She now lives in Tempe, Arizona with her husband and two daughters, multiple pets (including dogs, cats, Guinea pigs and chickens) and enjoys hiking, skiing, rafting and spending time with family.ĭr. Schick enjoys all aspects of veterinary dermatology, but has a special interest in ear disease and allergies. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Academy of Veterinaryĭermatology, the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and the Arizona, California and New Mexico Veterinary Medical Associations.ĭr. She enjoys teaching and participates in the training of visiting senior veterinary students, interns and dermatology residents and is adjunct clinical professor at Midwestern University Veterinary School. She has given continuing education lectures to veterinarians around Schick has served on the Board of Directors of ACVD Education Committee and she has authored multiple clinical research manuscripts. After completing her residency at Dermatology for Animals in 2006 and achieving board certification (Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology -ACVD) in 2007, she decided to stay on with the team and in 2009 became part owner of Dermatology for Animals.ĭr. In 2003, she completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at a private referral practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While at Cornell she worked with some of the leading veterinary dermatologists in the country and decided to pursue a dermatology career. Schick earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1994 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2002. Lewis sees patients at our Gilbert, Arizona location.ĭr. He has performed with the Chorale in famous cathedrals throughout Italy, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.ĭr. He sings in his church choir and in the Sonoran Desert Chorale. He is a birding enthusiast, and enjoys sailing, hiking and camping. He is frequently invited to lecture at veterinary continuing education meetings around the country and is always eager to share the insight he has gained. Lewis has written journal articles and supported research on a number of projects during his career. ![]() Lewis' principle interests include investigating the role of allergies and the effect they have on the skin. It was the first time most residents of these areas had access to board-certified veterinary dermatologists that could treat their afflicted pets.ĭr. Within three years clinics were added in Utah, Texas and Nebraska. Lewis founded the Dermatology Clinic for Animals (later Dermatology for Animals) with offices in Mesa and Tucson, Ariz., as well as in Albuquerque, NM. Lewis finished his residency and achieved his diplomate certification from the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. He worked at Mesa Veterinary Hospital for two years before starting his residency in dermatology. Lewis attended Colorado State University where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. After graduating from Arizona State University and marrying his high school sweetheart, Dr. ![]() ![]() Thomas Lewis was born and raised in Arizona, where he grew up knowing he wanted to be a veterinarian since the second grade of elementary school. ![]()
